With a line-up that read like a dream - Grace Jones, IDLES, Loyle Carner, Lauryn Hill - Downs Festival 2019 felt perfectly tuned to Bristol’s identity - bold, eclectic and rooted in community spirit. Xenz, a master of ethereal cityscapes, pays homage to this beautifully curated moment, where sound and skyline collided. His piece whispers of summer highs and collective movement, but also nods to loss - Crazy P’s Danielle Moore passed recently, reminding us that Bristol’s legacy is not just about nostalgia, but how we remember, honour and evolve.
